The Brief

SME Finance Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Tanya Wilson as its new Director of Corporate Finance and Forensic Accounting. Based in Llantrisant, Wilson brings extensive experience in corporate finance and forensic advisory, having previously served as a partner at Haines Watts in Cardiff.

In her new role, Wilson will focus on supporting SMEs to reach their full potential, helping business owners create and realise value, and guiding them through strategic financial decisions. “Our priority is helping SMEs achieve their objectives, whether that’s raising finance, managing growth, or preparing for a sale,” Wilson said. “We have significant experience in advising management teams and vendors on buy-outs, finance raises, and disposal mandates.”

Wilson will also continue to leverage her forensic expertise, acting as an expert witness to support legal teams in matrimonial and civil cases.

SME Finance Partners was founded by Chris Thomas, former divisional finance director at Hargreaves Services, and Darren Edwards, an accountant with experience at Calsonic and Johnson & Johnson. The firm provides part-time finance director services to SMEs, combining strategic financial advice with practical business support.

Wilson most recently advised on the management buy-out of Atal UK, a structural and basement waterproofing company, in a deal supported by the Development Bank of Wales.

With her appointment, SME Finance Partners strengthens its ability to provide tailored financial guidance and hands-on support to growing businesses across Wales.
